Summer Reading

One of things I have been enjoying since school has ended is reading. During the school year I don't have much time to read for pleasure. I have never been a big reader [I am more of a mathematical person], but this summer my goal is to read:

Les Misérables

I read a shortened version of Les Mis when I was a Senior in high school and I absolutely loved it. The summer after my Senior year I read the unabridged version.

This is my favorite literature book hands down.
[And this is why I had to buy another book] :]

This books shows the power of Mercy, Grace, and Love which reminds me of the Love that Christ has for us.
[If there is one thing I learned from high school literature it is to be an active reader -- pen in hand]

I learn new things every time I read this book, which is why I am reading it again. His writing is just excellent and a delight to read.

NCLEX-RN

Another goal I have this summer is to start study for the NCLEX-RN exam that I will be taking after I graduate. I have started reading this book and it is excellent thus far. This review book has given me a better understanding of the exam layout and strategies to choose the correct answers. This book also contains some practice questions [they recommend going through at least 5,000 practice questions [!] prior to taking the NCLEX-exam]. I guess it's never too early to start studying right? :]

Brittany's Baby Shower/Gabrielle Adora

Last weekend Brittany had her baby shower for the "Lemon".

The Lemon is either a Stephen or Evangeline. . .
[[I think it is a Stevie]]

I cannot wait to meet this little one. I love the Lemon SO much already!

I also got to meet my new niece Gabrielle Adora last weekend. She is just so precious! I'm so thankful for another beautiful, healthy, niece. I just love her so much!

What an amazing weekend. It is a blast when all my sisters can get together! What a blessed time that I am grateful to God for. I cannot wait until the beach where we can all be together again!

This Spring break I was able to participate in a medical missions trip to the Bahamas.
On the flight to the Bahamas
We stayed in NassauMy Roomies for the week.

Sweet little Bahamian girl.
Getting some vital signs
Baby Ashton
One of the nights we were able to go Atlantis. It was beautiful. We also had a free clinic at a Bahamian school. We saw elementary, middle, and high school kids. They were so polite and sweet. At night we would go to the park and play with the kids.
This kid was too cute. Last night at the park. This little girl was sweet. She asked me "When are you coming back?" In the airportOn the way back to Virginia
What a great time we had in the Bahamas sharing God's love. God blessed us with safe travels and beautiful weather. The team that I worked with was amazing. I will miss the Bahamian people. They were so patient and respectful. I have learned so much from this trip and I hope to participate in many more missions trips in the coming years!
