My Redeemer

This week in my class, my instructor played us this video. I was really touched by this video which shows the kind of love a father has for his child. It is a beautiful depiction of God's love for His children. It was a great way to start off my day. I am blessed to be able to have godly professors who can encourage us to live for the Lord.

But, what makes them really different from others is that Rick suffers from cerebral palsy - a condition involving permanent tightening of the muscles caused by damage to the brain during the time of birth. Rick was disabled at birth by a loss of oxygen to his brain because his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck.

Vital Signs

Today I had my first check off for vital signs. For my Health Assessment class, we learn a new task (this week was Vital Signs) and have to be able to assess these values by the end of each week. The first check off included :

Temperature
Pulse
Respiration
Blood Pressure

Reading the temperature was the hardest task for me. We have to practice on the glass thermometers and be able to read them manually. I found it hard to find the line that reads the temperature. After sticking many thermometers in my friends' mouths, I got the hang of it.


So when I went in to practice for my check off today, I practiced on one of the Juniors in the nursing program and after I had practiced on her, she told me that she could sign me off for the week. I was not expecting that, because I had planned to come in later today to complete my check off. I was very grateful, that I could do my "check off" earlier! God has been pouring out grace on me each day! I could not do any of this without Him!

Being in the nursing lab with friends gives me joy. I love learning from them and having fun with them. I'm excited to see how much we'll learn this semester!

Brother/Sister Dorm Activity

Well, I'm back at Liberty University. I started my first week of classes last Monday. It has been a busy week. This past weekend we planned to hike to Panther Falls with our brother dorm. After driving for about 2 hours, somebody realized that we were LOST. Luckily, we were close to Peaks of Otter. Peaks of Otter was beautiful!

We've got some climbers in our Brother Dorm.

Michigan

This past week the fam and I drove to Michigan to visit my sister Danielle. This was my first time in Michigan and I had a blast! Thanks Danielle, Josh and Annabelle for having us!

I absolutely loved the sky in Michigan! It was beautiful!

I also had fun taking pictures with Annabelle. She is so cute, last time that she visited I taught her to say "Peace", now when she sees me she calls me "Peace". It is too cute!

My Favorite Nurses

This past weekend I was able to get some pictures with my favorite nurses, my grandmother and my sister Karen.

Karen is such a great nurse! Many times throughout the school year I would call Karen up to ask her several questions about nursing. She has been able to explain and teach me different things. She even taught me how to take someone's blood pressure.


A couple of times I've been able to just follow her around at work and watch what she does. God definately made her to be a nurse and I'm blessed to have her as a sister!


Future Nurses? My nieces Kara and Katelyn. They were too cute and had a lot of fun playing with the stethoscope or as Kara would say the "telescope". :)
